The Desiderata by Max Ermhan

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant,
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.
But let not this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labours and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams; it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy.

I'm already syndicated

But there’s so much more than I can do. And I don’t just want to syndicate my site, I’d like to add really interesting new content to my site that my visitors will love. I’d also like to help others syndicate their content.

In a way, I am already helping others get syndicated. I have two functions in my Syndic8 membership. The first function is as a “Reviewer”. Reviewers, simply browse the waiting sites and either approve or disapprove them, after making sure they meet the standards and Newsfeed Guidelines. Once a site is approved, their syndicated feeds then appear in Syndic8’s feed list. My second function is as an Evangelist. Evangelists help sites get syndicated. People have requested that the site content be syndicated. So Evangelists go through the process of contacting the owners and helping them establish a quality newsfeed that will then be included in Syndic8’s newsfeeds. It’s good experience for my resume and work portfolio.

And that is my real goal: To expand in this area and offer this type of service, professionally. Get paid to do it in addition to my standard design work.

I’m going to post all I learn and find in this thread. It’ll probably be my most active one … cuz I LOVE this stuff ;o)

I've got team mates now!

This committment to Change the World just got strengthened. I was invited to join a team who is doing this together (thanks Liane) and I think this will help me with this goal.

And together we can accomplish SO much more!

Organizing

I’m streamlining my 43things goals ;o) I just changed this goal from “stop wasting time” to “stay focused” because I’ve got about 5 goals in here that all boil down to the same thing … FOCUS.

Progress? Yep …. this streamlining is just one aspect … I’m doing it everywhere in my life now. 43things is awesome …. it’s really helping me to focus and change.
